DC Patients Closer to Access!

ASA has been working around the clock to advance safe access in the District and this past Friday we took a giant step toward victory! During the rulemaking process ASA  educated lawmakers, mobilized our grassroots and did what we do best– brought patients’ voices to the table.

The regulations in DC are greatly improved; highlights include consumer protections on dispensaries and extending privacy rights to patients. Most notably, our medicine will no longer be controlled by the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA). When you become a member today, you’re supporting this important focus on DC.

We’ve had a meaningful victory in the District but the most important victory is that patients’ issues were taken seriously! And we need to be taken seriously because we still have a lot of work to do. Maintaining our right to self-cultivate—a right that voters approved but the city is trying to take away—is at the top of that list. Make sure our right to grow medicine in our homes remains—become a member of ASA today.

I live in D.C. I spend my life advocating for safe access and yet, like you, I have none in my own city. There is no more important battleground for me personally than the fight in Washington, DC. I promise you, we will be fighting for this until we win it but with your support, with your membership today, that fight will be a lot easier, a lot faster and lot more effective. Please, become a member today.

In Solidarity,

Steph Sherer
ASA Founder and Executive Director
